Alaska Fly Fishing Lodge in Bristol Bay

Remote Bristol Bay fly fishing for salmon, trout, and grayling — unmatched access, expert guides, and just 10–12 anglers a week.

When everything is firing in Bristol Bay, the hardest part is choosing: 25-pound northern pike on the surface, sea-lice-bright salmon near the coast, Arctic char in a mountain creek, or rainbows and dollies on rivers like the Nushagak, Agulapak, and Togiak. That is the daily dilemma at Royal Coachman Lodge. By hosting just 10–12 anglers a week, we fish where conditions are best—not where a set schedule says we must.

The Only Lodge on the Nuyakuk River

Our home is the remote Nuyakuk River, inside Wood-Tikchik State Park, on a rare grandfathered property. With Class V rapids above and below and no roads within 60 miles, we are fly-in only—so even when weather grounds the fly-outs, world-class fishing is right out the front door.

Just 10–12 Guests Each Week

With only 10–12 anglers a week, the week stays personal. Our crew learns your goals, and every evening we sit down to plan the next day around them. Between long days on the water and shared meals, the guides come to feel more like friends than staff.

We Go Where the Fishing Is Best

Our fly-outs span more than 250 miles and 25–30 distinct fisheries, reached through nine permits and leases into the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, Wood-Tikchik State Park, and Katmai National Park. Decades of local knowledge let us find the best fishing in solitude—not the most convenient water.

Too Many Good Options

Over the season we land twelve species of sport fish in the Bristol Bay region. One day you are sight casting to king salmon, the next you are stripping mouse patterns for big northern pike, drifting for trophy rainbows, or chasing rare sheefish, char, and grayling. No two days look alike.
